Russian plane carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war crashes near border: Russia

 

 

A Russian cargo plane has crashed near the Ukrainian border near Bolgorod. The Russian Ministry of Defense says that the crashed plane was carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war who were being taken for a prisoner exchange.

It has not been confirmed by independent sources who was on board this plane.

 

According to the official news agency of Russia, in addition to the Ukrainian prisoners of war, there were nine more people on board, including six crew members.

 

Ukrainian media have been informed that the downed plane was carrying missiles for the Russian S-300 air defense system.
